Prosperity refers to more than just money; it's about feeling as if you have it all. It is about having faith that you are always somehow taken care of. To find the prosperity section of your space, go to the back left-hand one-ninth of your home or room and take a quick inventory.

Do you see anything immediately that would make you laugh and say, "Oh, that's why I'm always struggling for prosperity?" If you do, then remove that very thing and you will be instantly heading in a new direction towards more wealth.

Things to ADD:

Purple, red and green: These three colours support wealth energy in a space. A chunk of amethyst or jade can have special meaning if placed in the prosperity area of your home.

Symbols of wealth: Money, gold or stock certificates all play well in this corner of the house.

Jewels: I've seen a treasure chest created out of a little jewellery box overflowing with costume jewellery that I thought held quite a bit of prosperity power.

Symbols of 'having it all': Pictures of your kids or pets work well here. Collages or photos of items that you would like to have are inspirational too - just place them here and pretend that you have placed your order for them. When the order is up, you will receive them. Just remember, be careful what you wish for.

Healthy plants: Grow money in your accounts by growing a plant here.

Things to REMOVE:

Clutter: Get rid of it, especially if it is blocking access to furniture or a door, or is collecting dust because it has been there so long.

Leaks and peeling paint: If the ceiling is leaky and peeling away, so is your money.

Toilets: Toilets pull energy down and away. Since you can't really move your toilet if it falls in your prosperity gua, remember to keep the lid down as much as possible.

Cat litter boxes: 'Animal toilets' don't have the downward and away pull of energy, but they do have the same negative association as toilets - especially if they smell bad.

Broken stuff:
If something is broken in the corner, you probably are too.

Dead or withering plants: Anything obviously decomposing is not holding the energy you want in this area.

Dustbin: Like the toilet, this item can take away vital energy from you.

Improper prosperity symbols: Art that depicts items in a withering or decomposing state (old rusty chairs, sad or poor people) or reminders of your student days when you had no money should not be displayed here.

The centre, or heart, of your home is such a special place - it holds your physical energies. When you don't have your health, it seems like everything else is out of balance. That's why your physical energy is in the centre of the home. It is the only part of your living space that touches the other eight areas of life on the bagua (the map of your home according to Feng Shui).

Things to ADD:

Earth: The earth elements reign supreme in this spot, so feel free to load it up. A live plant that is growing in some fresh soil can really improve your energies for health and balance.

Yellows and earth tones: Sometimes all it takes is a simple shift in colour to bring about a dramatic shift in energy. Adding yellows and even more bland earth tones to your health and balance zone can improve your health ch'i. Try a pot of fresh yellow Chrysanthemums in a pot of real earth.

Laughter: Laughter is the best medicine. Add something that tickles your funny bone in the center of your health space.

Squares and flat stuff: Squares and flat items exude the energetic movement that works well in this area, so let's say a flat, square, stone coffee table would be about perfect. Mix and match with these shapes to get what feels right for you.

Religious Objects: Some people like having a reminder of the higher forces of the universe around and the centre is one of the better places to put them. The religious style or symbolism doesn't matter - the intention behind it does. If the symbol is made of stone, so much the better.

Things to REMOVE:

Wood: Wood uproots earth in Feng Shui terms, so it's best to keep it out of the centre.

Columnar shapes: Anything shaped like a tree's trunk has an upward movement of energy that doesn't work to your advantage here. Columns, tall wooden curios and spiral staircases are all potential hazards in the health area. Green: With the exception of a healthy plant, the color green can hinder the helpful healthy energies you are trying to gather here.
