Hello Fellow Writers, I have been writing for as long as I can remember. I taught reading and writing in workshops for adults and in public and private schools for nearly ten years. I began submitting in 1995 and published in a number of periodicals. My husband died in 1998 and life stood still for awhile, leaving my desire and ability to write dormant. Now, as I discover that there is indeed life after death, I am ready to begin again and am pleased to find a community of writers. I look forward to meeting you and sharing with you and corresponding with you. Sabrina

I began writing short stories some twenty odd years ago. Since then, all of that has hit the round file. Only in the past couple of years has my work survived my critical rampages. (I guess I got better with practice.) Now I have alot of ideas, but can only work on so many things at one time. My fantasy stuff deals with knights and heroic adventures, mainly the Knights of the Roses and the Eagle Knights of Earnric. My sci fi setting is the Commonwealth (NOT that Commonwealth!) I can prove it with the first thing I wrote in that stting, way back in 1991. I held on to that little piece of fluff!

I have been writing stories and poems since childhood. Most of the music composition and storytelling has been in my head and hasn't made it down to the pen-and-paper stage yet. A licensed minister since 1996, I specialize in Art and Dream Therapy with a degree in Social Work since 1994, as well as being Master level in traditional and non-traditional Reiki, and One Brain Therapy. I am also proficient in other healing arts such as aromatherapy and much more. I studied under an internationally-reknowed herbalist/aromatherapist and now author for 5 years. I love food, cooking (especially when I have someone who likes my cooking), and if I had room again, I'd have a garden to grow my produce and herbs. I like the Edwardian Era and the writings that came out of it, but I'm rather eclectic when it comes to writing styles. I've had fun with my studies of the Middle Ages, and some of you know that I'm involved in Society for Creative Anachronism. Music, I love almost all kinds of music. I grew up with the musicals and I know only one other person my age who can outsing me on them. I have an avid interest in world religions, and have studied many. I've only run into one or two that I had real problems with. In my Social Work Degree Core Classes, I had to make up a genogram of my family tree. That re-inspired me to get back into geneology, and am diligently tracing what records remain of my family tree. It's difficult to say the least when I reach stumbling blocks because of wars having destroyed much of the records, to say nothing of the poor record-keeping of most people anyway. I enjoy good, well-rounded, conversation, and have little if any tolerance for insincere people or people who would otherwise do someone harm based on general principles alone. In other words, I don't need the bad energy.

Greetings Fellow Writers: Writing is one of my many interests, I've been a medical professional for nearing 24 years. Recently, I've taken a position in a Cardiology Office and am throughly enjoying myself, I work with a great group of women, and the Doc is a really nice person but mostly importantly he's a Great Cardiologist. I've been writing since my mid-teens, and would some day like to get published. I'm also a musician, playing 4 instruments, piano, clarinet, flute, and my favorite, the Cello.

I'm 25 years old, and I have been writing for the past 9 years. I'm in the process of being published (HOPEFULLY), and working on other novels. With the rest of my time, I take care of my handicapped mom, and tend to my various hobbies (dreaming of the perfect garden spot, cooking "gourmet" meals, daydreaming, and keeping our four cats (Angel, Dandelion, King Tut, and Stinky George) from tearing the house down around us. I swear our cats are just like little kids running around!

Well, since I have belonged to this site since it's birth, guess it is about time I did this!! I am not a writer by any means, but Kat says I have to try, so I do!! And I have managed to write a couple of things, but believe me, I leave the real writing to the ones who know what they are doing! And that leaves me out!!!! But, I call it home and I love it. Kat has a lot of great ideas and knows how to put them into play. So much that she inspired me to start my own site...the sister site to The Writers Realm....The Mermaids Moat. She is the best and this site is the best!!!

I've been writing for pleasure since childhood and for profit during the past couple of years. I've had minor successes with short stories and writing competitions and decided to try to spread my wings a little. I have one completed novel ms currently with an agent and under consideration and I have another in the edit stages (first draft complete). Why do I write? I write because I have to, it's as natural as the need to breathe, eat or sleep. When I am not writing I am usually doing the aforementioned three things. I am determined to succeed...or to die trying!

Just a little about me. I'm mainly into fantasy fiction, but I have to be honest and admit that I've been a slacker in the writing department. I used to be able to belt out a story like no tomarrow...now I'm lucky if I can even think of a story line <LOL> I guess it's lack of practice. I can't edit my own stuff...so be warned, I have typo demons who have made my keyboard their home and no matter what I do, they always come back...they're a lot like ants that way (ha, ha, ha). I'm also really good ad really bad jokes...ya know, the kind that make you groan. But, I love to read other's work, and I hope to get into the groove of writing again, it's the only thing that gives me true inner joy. I relly love swords and castles and all that midieval junk...unfortunately my knowledge is not that extensive in those areas yet. I'm workin on it though. Sil

Hi all, I just joined and am already absouloutley adoring the group. I have no specific genre and write in my spare time between high school, college, drama class's, work etc. So lets just say at the moment i am writing very little. But now that i have joined this group IT IS ALL ABOUT TO CHANGE. Currently i am doing the prelims for a series of books and know what is going to happen, i just need to actually DO the prelims. The creation of the templates for character bios and character history timelines is what is taking the longest, (In case you didn't notice i am very thourough, and bad at spelling). Apart from my books i am an 18 year old New Zealander who is in her last year at high school but also does college courses too. I also act and recently had to write my own monologue for class (Confessions of an Unappreciated Teacher). You think that since i wrote it i would know it wouldn't you?? I also recently had my birthday and recieved a kitten who a cat in my books is based on (So i really need pictures of her as a kitten). All in all i am over worked, underpaid, unappreciated.... Just like every one else. I hope to get the best help and feed back from this group (I'm always stuck on Charcter Names). Regards, Jackie

Writing, enjoying well written books, love, fun - all the good stuff and not necessarily in that order!

I don't wish to simply repeat the posts of other members here but I have to say that yes indeed, I've written all my life and derive such pleasure from doing so. I live to write, I get my release from writing - it is my sanity and it is what centers me. In addition, I am very fortunate that my life partner also loves to write and so we share this wonderful passion fully - this I believe is such a huge blessing over us. I've written poetry, short stories etc., over the years. Currently I am in the process of completing the second half of a children's work of fiction but have just now taken a hiatus from that project until I complete two summer fiction writing classes this year. These classes will benefit me greatly I believe. I do not wish to proceed with my novel until I have gained some much needed education in certain aspects of writing and effective story telling. I have put so much of my heart into this story thus far that I feel I owe it to the story and also to the craft to give the project justice and tell it properly when I have all the tools necessary to proceed. So it's on the backburner until after those classes. In the interim however, I'm thoroughly intrigued (and loving every minute of it) to be learning the craft of Screenwriting and am looking forward to working on co-writing a screenplay with my husband later this year. He is a wonderful writer and mentor and my greatest inspiration. Right now I'm working on my first script and it's very interesting indeed to learn such a different way of telling a story (such a contrast to the art of novel writing though - but a fun challenge nonetheless!)

Hey there! Well, lets see. I'm going to be a sophomore in 2002-03, and I'm going into my second year of the Army JROTC, currently at the rank of Sergeant. I'm not used to writing many originals, since I'm basically into fanfiction. That's kind of why I'd joined this realm, to teach myself to get into writing my own work, because not a lot of writers can get by with using another's characters. So, yeah, I'm going to have fun here, I think. ^^

Whoaaaa it's been a year since I updated this! Time to get current! I recently graduated from high school and now I have no life. I could pretty much just end the story there but I'll try spice things up. I'm currently taking a year off before returning to post secondary to pursue a career in...well I haven't quite figured that out yet either. In the meanwhile the days tick by as I work in a bookstore at the airport, which definitely gives me my share of adventures. However, when I'm not working (which isn't very often) I like to play. I've been writing since I was 12, and I completed my first 287 page book when I was 13. Since then I have written over a hundred short stories, thirty poems, fifteen scripts, and I am currently working on my fourth book. So far my only glimmer of publication is that of my short story Ripped which managed to sneak its way into a short story anthology. I adore writing, and I believe it is a passion that will remain with me for a very long time. When I'm not writing I'm usually reading, listening or playing music, and other dorky and nerdy things such as anime, video games, movies, and so forth. I am the Queen of the Nerds, a title I have finally graciously accepted. Working in a bookstore I've discovered some great reads, far too many to name so I'll only list a few. Those books that are 'gooders' are: J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit, Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series, Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, George Orwell's 1984, and many more. Music wise...I'll listen to anything and I will probably enjoy it...unless it's pop, rap, hip hop, country sort of thing. But hey, sometimes even those genres surprise me and I'll find something I like. Some personal favs are Linkin Park, Disturbed, Tan Dun, Rob Dougan, Prodigy, Samuel Barber, Apocalyptica, Rob Zombie, Rammstein, Thievery Corporation, E.S. Posthumus, and once again many, many more. Also, yay for animes like Chobits, Trigun, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, Blood The Last Vampire, Inu Yasha, Hellsing, Cowboy Bebop, Ayashi no Ceres, and Escaflowne! The art is stunning, the music is gorgeous, and the stories are unique! And my friends! I love my friends! They lift me up, stand by me, support me, and encourage me while making fun of me along the way (in a loving way of course)! We're 18, we're immature, and we're legal! Whoo!
